Synopsis 
I want me film to be about 5 people lost in a forest, trying to survive and get out. The 5 different character all want to escape reality each for their own reasons. Each of the characters are unique and have different background stories.
 One character is a 'goth' and wears black and has piercings, she does this to forget about her past and to stay away from other people. Another character is a 'stoner' he smokes weed and is never taking seriously by anyone, we learn that he does his because he feels misunderstood and rejected by everyone. The next character is a ' dumb blonde' and everyone thinks she is ditsy and has many different partners what no one knows is that she got pregnant and was forced to get rid of the baby, leaving her empty and broken. The 'nerd' is also a character in the film and is hidding the secret of his sexuality, nobody knows and he is scared if anyone did. The last character is the 'Tom Boy' everyone thinks she is weird because she doesn't dress or act like the other girls, what they don't know is that she does this to gain respect from her father. 
They all find themselves lost in the forest and find once they all find each other, they work together to survive the night lost in the forest. In the forest they fight and argue, despising the people around them. Slowly the day turns to a week and the 5 quickly run out of resources and try to find ways to eat and survive. As the days go one they begin to get closer and trust each other more, as everything starts to go well one character (the dumb blonde) gets sick. They all try and help and find a way out but it begins to look hopeless. As the days get longer the hunger begins to take its tole and they have to fight each other of like animals. One night when all looks lost they hear people running to safety the 5 are all safe, they get sent to the hospital and get treated. When everything is back to normal and all are safe the girl begins to get worse and ends up dying of the illness she carried while lost.

Layer Cake
Layer Cake has a very unique opening scene. In the scene me meet the main character who remains nameless throughtout, we learn that the main charater is a drug dealer that is secretive and very smart in the way he acts and goes about doing his job. His lifestyle is perfect he is rich and everything is set 'on plain'. The main character is shown to be the narrator of the clip and because its asynchronous sound we can tell that its an voiceover on the clip. In the clip there are many camera shot and edits to make the opening clip more exciting and appealing. Graphic match is used several times in the clip, it's used then going into different shots and we can see it with the use of hair from one person to another. When he is speaking in the over head voice it sometimes relates back to the actions on the screen, for example, when he introduces himself he then appears on the screen. all actions and dialoge is used for a purpose in the clip nothing is wasted and helps explain the story further telling us what he does and who he is. personaly i think that Layer Cake is on of the best openings I've seen so far because everything is used perfectly and nothiung is wasted while telling the story.Layer cake opening scene

Sweeney Todd

The demon barber of fleet street 

I like the opening of this film because as you follow the blood it tells the story of Sweeney Todd. The open is animated and it helps the bright red blood stand out more.

In the opening they use a lot of zoom and graphic match it helps add to the mystery of the film. The music in the background goes from low pitched music, to high pitch to show the many moods and music styles in the film.

•From the beginning of the film we can see it’s a horror straight away. The dark lighting and its tension building music creates a scary and gothic feel to the film.

•The opening introduced the plot by telling the story with the blood. You can see blood traveling down the chair and into the sewers below to help explain the film. It explains the film because it tells you it’s about death and pain, the blood shows the chair which has a trap door that takes you below the house. We can see meat being turned into pies which helps explain the story further. The blood is all the people he kills, falling down the chair into the basement to then being turned into the pies to give to customers.

The different music tones help to show it’s a musical by constantly changing and changing the mood. By showing the sign for a barbers shop we can see that it’s the known tale of Sweeney Todd. The use of the blood also shows it’s a film with a lot of blood in it and there will be many gruesome deaths with in the film.  The opening doesn’t explain much about the characters apart from its about a barber who kills his customers and then turns his victims into pies. The audience is hooked because by showing us the story is encourages to watch more of the films. It tells us just enough to make us want to watch but doesn’t tell us everything to ruin the film.
